Festival Details
Open to improvisers and spectators from around the globe, the Happy Valley XL Improv Festival will truly be a Happy Valley experience. Taking place May 18th - 21st, visitors will get to experience the beauty of downtown State College and the surrounding area during one of the prettiest times of the year.
With help from a $17,000 Tourism Marketing Grant from the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and the Centre County Commissioners, Happy Valley Improv (HVI) will bring close to 60 improvisers from around the country to State College. In addition, the Festival will attract dozens of local patrons each night to experience some of the best improv comedy in the world. This year's lineup includes teams from New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, San Diego, and Philadelphia. The excitement is high to be a part of the Happy Valley XL Improv Festival.
The four festival days will be filled to the bring with adventure for the participants. Each morning will include iconic Happy Valley experiences like touring Penn State no way to the Creamery, hiking Mount Nittany, and experiencing many downtown business and public art displays through a scavenger hunt. Each afternoon and evening will be filled with workshops facilitated by professional improvisers from around the country and shows on the Blue Brick Theatre stage.
With your help, we truly can showcase how much Happy Valley has to offer for everyone – from young professionals and families to outdoor enthusiasts and retirees! Your partnership will allow HVI to offer heavily discounted local experiences, give us the ability to pay instructors and headliners the rate they deserve for their profession, and give all of our out-of-town guests a weekend they will never forget.
Thank you for considering how you might help to make the XL Improv Festival one of a kind! For more information about how your partnership can help us share what our community has to offer, please reach out to our business manager, James Tierney, at happyvalleyimprov at gmail dot com or 518-569-6498.
