Happy Valley Improv’s week-long summer camp will engage participants with the art of improvisational theatre. Campers will learn how to improvise, work closely with a group of their peers, and perform for an audience of friends and family.
The summer camp is run by Sam Tanner and Andrea McCloskey.
Sam was a high school English and drama teacher for 15 years in the Twin Cities, before accepting a faculty job with Penn State. He’s directed improvisation with teenagers for 15 years as well.
Andrea is an associate professor of education at Penn State. Both Sam and Andrea were high school teachers before becoming faculty members. They’re also improvisers who perform regularly with Happy Valley Improv, and they have a wealth of experience working with teenagers.
Both the camp and the performance will be held at the State Theatre. Camp is open to rising 7th-12th graders.
Dates for 2019 Summer Camp are TBD.
